Jack Harkins, AIA - Partner  

Jack joined TLP following his graduation from Texas Tech University and has served the firm as a partner since 1980. He brings over 38 years of experience in architectural planning and design to the firm's projects. He has developed a specialty in the design of educational facilities.
Active in professional affiliations, Jack is a member of the American Institute of Architects and the Texas Society of Architects. In addition to serving as President of the Abilene Preservation League and chairman of the Planning and Zoning Commission, he also has been a tireless volunteer for the American Red Cross for 22 years.
Major Projects
Abilene Christian University Hunter Welcome Center, Principal In Charge for design and construction phase services for this new 2-story, 56,000 SF multi-function facility. Design includes the campus alumni services, admissions, recruiting, the Center for Creating Community, Foundation offices and a 450 seat Conference Center.
Hardin-Simmons University Holland Health Science Center, Principal In Charge for design and construction for a new 24,000 SF teaching facility for the joint use of the Hardin-Simmons University and the Abilene Independent School District. Design includes academic classroom, science labs and prep rooms.
Abilene Christian University Gardner Residence Hall Renovations, Principal In Charge for Master Planning and design for renovations and additions to an existing 78,000 SF student residential hall. The design calls for increasing the number of beds from 360 to 480 and adding new spaces for study and student interaction.
Abilene Christian University Williams Center For Performing Arts, Principal In Charge for the design and construction of this 92,000 square foot classroom, performance and practice facilities for ACU’s departments of music and theatre. The facility also includes a recital hall, signature lobby area, dressing rooms, faculty and administrative offices, faculty studios, choral and instrumental rehearsal halls, and a music library.
